What happens to guest data?

Guests don't create accounts and never give us a name, email or phone number to order. BroadNet.AI keeps each table's chat and orders so your staff can serve the table and you can see your results. We never sell guest data or build guest profiles, and WaiterPilot takes no payment, so there is no card step in it.

Where is guest data kept?

BroadNet.AI keeps guest chats and orders to run the service. They are never sold.

WaiterPilot is made by BroadNet.AI, which is responsible for the guest data it keeps. A few service providers help run the product, and they are listed below.

Do guests have to give personal details?

No. Guests don't sign up and never give a name, email or phone number to order.

A guest scans the QR code on the table and the menu opens in the phone's browser. There is no app to install and no sign-up.

We use one essential cookie to keep a guest's phone connected to their table (30 days) and one for the visit (24 hours). There are no advertising or analytics cookies on the ordering page.

One thing to know: what a guest writes can reach your staff. Notes such as "no onions" go on the ticket as the request was taken, and staff can read a table's chat, so if a guest puts their name in a message, staff will see it.

What does the restaurant see?

What each table orders and asks for, on your staff screens.

WhatWhere it shows
Dishes, quantities and options for each tableThe main board and the kitchen screen. The kitchen screen shows no prices.
Notes such as "no onions"On the ticket, as the request was taken, not translated.
The table's chatStaff can open it from the board to see what the guest asked.
Waiter calls and check requestsThe floor screen.
Order status: Awaiting staff, In kitchen, ServedThe staff board and the guest's phone.
The live bill, with tax and any service charge you setThe phones at that table, where guests can split it evenly or see just their own share.

WaiterPilot doesn't ask guests for an account, a name or a phone number, so none of them is part of an order.

What does WaiterPilot not do with guest data?

The short list of things it doesn't do.

  • It doesn't sell it. Guest data is never sold.
  • It doesn't build guest profiles. We keep each table's chat and orders so your staff can serve the table and you can see your results, never to build profiles of guests.
  • It doesn't take payment. Guests pay on your own terminal or till, so there is no card step in WaiterPilot.
  • It doesn't send orders to your POS. There is no POS or printer connection; orders stay on WaiterPilot's screens and staff enter the sale in your till. See works with your POS.

Which service providers help run WaiterPilot?

A short list, each for one job. None of them answers the guest's chat.

  • Cloudflare. Network and website delivery.
  • A US cloud storage provider. Backups, and the menu images and logos restaurants upload.
  • A cloud AI service. Used only to read a restaurant's menu documents during setup. No guest data goes to it.
  • Browser push services. Deliver staff alerts to phones. The alerts carry no content.
  • Stripe. Restaurant billing for the subscription. No guest data.

What can't this page answer yet?

Some details aren't published yet. We'd rather say so than guess. Ask us and we'll answer for your restaurant.

  • How long orders, notes and chat messages are kept.
  • How a restaurant exports or deletes its data.
  • Whether a data processing agreement is available.
  • Security certifications or audits.

What about this website?

waiterpilot.com is separate from the product. It counts visits without cookies and keeps what you type into the demo form so we can answer you.

The visit counter records the page viewed, its language, the visitor's country, the site that sent them and whether they use a phone or a desktop. It sets no cookies and stores no IP address.

If you fill in the demo form, we keep what you type so we can answer you and follow up. The website is hosted by Cloudflare. The details are in the privacy policy.
